Birthday boy!

AWESOME! Day 3 has just ended and we are now reporting live from Sarimbun Scout Camp. Right now, its 11.50pm in Singapore, and the Scouts are still awake, spending the last moments of Day 3 night playing and enjoying each other's company! This morning, the Scouts had the opportunity to visit Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve where they learnt about the ecological system of the mangrove swamps. Following that nature experience, they were led to Aerogreen Aeroponics Farm, where they tasted 'lettucino', a wonderful concotion of 'aeroponically-grown lettuce' and lime and kiwi. Vegetables will never taste the same for these Scouts! (*a note to parents, your kids simply LOVE those vegetables!). A light drizzle bade us farewell as we departed from the farm. The first sign of rain in warm and sunny Singapore. The rain was depressing indeed, it was clear that the rain was dampening the spirits of the Scouts, who could not go out and play in the afternoon. :( A lil bit of spice was needed. Desperately. It came. It's name was 'dinner'. BBQ Satay (seasoned meat on sticks), Otah (chilied fish paste wrapped in banana leaf) as well as chicken wings provided additional reason to claim seconds and thirds. The Scouts enjoyed an awesome time with each other. Through bar games, friendly wrestling and delicious food, new friendships were formed, bonds were strengthened. Indeed, the spirit of the camp, Kawanee - Friendship, was burning deep and burning strong. As I begin to draw this entry to a close, I could still hear laughter streaming from the Scouts' bunks, signifying the beginnings of lifelong friendships and the undying brotherhood spirit of Scouting.

*HappY BirthdaY BarT! We hope your Scouting journey will be an awesome and great one!
