RECOMMENDED CAMPING GEARS - CHECK LIST

A total of 40 Scouts (Aged 13-16 years old) from Singapore and Western Australia, will be participating in Camp Kawanee from Saturday, 4 to Monday, 6 July 2009 at Sarimbun Scout Camp.

Campers will be housed in non-air con dormitory with ceiling fans. Singapore Scouts are required to bring their own sleeping bags. WA Scouts are NOT required to bring sleeping bags, however it is up to you. In view of the humidity of our local climate, the temperature at that time is between 23 and 34 degree Celsius.

Recommended Camping Gears to bring for Camp Kawanee:

- Scout Uniform (to be worn during flag break)
- Scarves will have to worn at all time during camp.
- Cap
- 2-3 T-shirts
- 2-3 Shorts
- Undergarments
- 2-3 pair socks
- Good pair of shoes
- Sandals (slippers)
- 1 Long trousers/track pant
- Rain-coat/ poncho
- Body Powder
- Washing powder (for laundry wash)
- Toiletries (body shower cream, shampoo, tooth-brush, toothpaste, toilet roll etc)
- Bath Towel
- Scout Song Book
- Writing Material
- Torchlight
- Rope (knotting use and use as cloth line)
- Personal Souvenirs (for personal exchange as gesture of friendship, example - key chains)
- Scout Badges (for badge-patch exchange during free time)
- Name-card (for exchanges, networking and correspondence)
- Personal First Aid Kit (Handy plaster, insect repellent, antiseptic cream etc..)
- Personal water-bottle (1 litre)

*No need to bring dilly bag (eating utensils etc..)
Campers will be provided with eating utensils for meals, however they are required to wash it after use.

As there are several field trips, you are encouraged to carry a small backpack.

In view of the H1N1 situation reigning the globe, please note that stringent temperature takings will be enforced as camp ruled. Daily temperature-takings will be conducted at 12 hour interval.
It is recommended that each camper to bring along their personal thermometer for use.

    Will we need:
    -Torch?
    -Dilly bag (plate, cup, cutlery set, etc.)?
    -Pillow?
